Employment Equity Season opens 1st September 2024

The Employment Equity season open on 1st September 2024 and the deadline for submission is the 15th of January 2025. If you are a designated employer, with 50 or more employees, or if you are working on maintaining your BBBEE scorecard, then this is something that needs to be taken care of. With year-end around the corner and many businesses shutting down and staff going off on leave there are very few actual working days left to get your report submitted.

The existing Employment Equity (EE) Act provisions for the 2024 Employment Equity reporting period are still applicable, pending the signing of the EE amendments.

This is according to the Department of Employment and Labour’s Deputy Director of Employment Equity, Masilo Lefika, who was speaking during the second of the first series of annual Employment Equity roadshows, held in collaboration with the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) in Rustenburg on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
